SENATE APPROVES STATE OF EMERGENCY The Senate on tuesday approved the state of emergency earlier declared by President Goodluck Jonathan in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. At the end of a closed door session, the 100 senators present unianimously backed the move. The House of Representatives is expected to also consider the measure aimed at checking the activities of terrorists in the north.
