CHURCH BARS WOMEN FROM COMING TO CHURCH WITH HANDBAGS Women at St. Kevin's Catholic parish Jikwoyi in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja have been adviced not to be coming to church with their handbags. The parishioners were also encouraged to cooperate fully with the security men at the entrance of the church. Although no reason was given on why handbags should not be brought to church, StanleyIbekuPage learnt that the directive may not be unconnected to the stringent security measures deployed by the churches and security agencies to forestall any sad occurrence as a result of suicide missions. Attacks on churches especially on sundays have been on the increase in recent times. On sunday, a suicide bomber forced his way into the entrance of St. John's Catholic Church in Bauchi state killing two people and injuring 50 others.
