THOUSANDS DISPLACED AS RIVER BENUE OVERFLOWS Thousands of Benue State residents are now counting their losses as the bank of River Benue overflew. The people are relocating to unknown places as the water has taken over plain lands. Residents said they lost most of their properties. As at the time of this report there is no account of loss of life. Benue state governor Gabriel Suswan led other executive council members to the bank of the river. The governor pleaded on the federal government to help as the state government cannot be able to contain the situation alone. Meanwhile emergency agencies have been mobilised to the affected areas.
